How We Use Collected Information
Outright International may share information to companies that process data on our behalf in order to provide you with good service and to develop our business in a cost-effective way that achieves the greatest possible benefits for global LGBTIQ human rights. This data may involve distribution, analysis, payment services, or organizing events and offering other services. When Outright processes personal data, we do so with high security and confidentiality.
Outright may share personal information provided to us in these situations: (i) to provide products or services you've requested through us; (ii) to providers who are contracted by Outright to perform a service integral to carrying out Outright’s service to our mission, our compliance and our financial operations; (iii) in response to a validly-issued subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (iv) when necessary to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal action; or (v) where you request Outright to do so. If you contact Outright, we may use your email address to answer the email we receive from you. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose.
To expand Outright’s donor base we participate in nonprofit data cooperatives. Data cooperatives are membership-based services offered by vendors that enable cooperative members to pool personal information about their respective supporters to model and identify new prospective supporters and/or to deepen engagement with existing donors. When Outright participates in data cooperatives, we may share your personal information; this may include contact and interaction information — for example, donation history — with data-cooperative vendors in exchange for the ability to contact individuals who are prospective Outright supporters and/or modeled information about existing Outright supporters who also support other cooperative member nonprofits. This practice of sharing supporter personal information with and through a data cooperative is a longstanding nonprofit practice that enables nonprofits to maintain a stronger supporter base — while lowering costs — by targeting communications to individuals who have high likelihood to be interested in hearing from them.
Outright does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children (minors younger than 18 years of age) on our online platforms without parental or guardian consent. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
